The points listed are in no particular order.

new for version 0.4.2:

  - new `--subdir' option
  - added a man page (shortening the README file)
  - bug fixes

new for version 0.4.1:

  - fixed a severe bug causing a package to be deleted if it already 
    existed (in command `makeinst')
  - new --force option to install packages even if they already exist
  - using autoconf and friends to configure stowES
  - bug fixes


new for version 0.4:  
  
  - updated docu
  - added some more output messages to some subs
  - now creating an info about the host machine and creator when installing
    a package
  - rotating install, try to compile source packages as long as possible
    (see README file for better explanation)
  - new commands: shell, rebuild
  - setting environment-variables {CPP,LD}FLAGS, LD_RUN_PATH,
    LD_LIBARY_PATH, PATH with appropriate values
  - default for striping is now not to strip (caused trouble)
  - extended checks for stow-dir
  - better handling (not so confusing) of `-s' and `-t' options
    in conjuction with config files.
  - environment-variable STOWES to store options in
  - 
  - ... a lots of bugs fixed of course
