A Swap Dataspace Manager for DROPS

Belegverteidigung

The swappable dataspace manager (DMSwap) is an attempt to further develop the virtual-memory management system of DROPS. With the porting of the Linux-IDE drivers to DROPS, the possibility arose to implement a pager that provides a replacement policy and is able to move physical memory pages to a hard disk.

This talk will deal with the chosen replacement policy, as well as the pager's design goals. A brief introduction to the virtual-memory concept of L4 will be given, and some (necessary) performance improvements will be discussed.
