Zeit-Virtualisierung
Meike Zehlike
TU Dresden
physischen Zeit driftet.

Consolidate to Idle
Johannes Steinmetz
TU Dresden
Zwischenpräsentation der Diplomarbeit
'Consolidate to Idle'is a new paradigm in multiprocessor realtime
scheduling. Instead of the common aproach of 'Race to Idle', where jobs
get distributed over all possible processors, the jobs are held in as
little as probably sufficient cores. Lazy task migration serves as
fallback strategy, that allows to keep given hard realtime conditions,
but a potentially provides less overall energy consumption in the average
case. In this status presentation I will show the current state of my
analysis of the paradigm, consequences arising from the task model and how I
transfer such an algorithm to a prototype implementation that fits the
linux modular scheduler.
