Reconfigurable Nanowire Transistors as Building Blocks for Functionality Enhanced Electronics
Andre Henizig
TU Dresden, NamLab
A promising perspective for the advancement of electronics beyond Moore's
law is given by enhancing the functionality per computing unit. In this
talk I will present the concept and the realization of reconfigurable
silicon nanowire transistors (RFETs). In contrast to conventional
transistors these devices can be reversely configured as p-FET and n-FET by
the application of an electronic signal. The electric characteristics of the
devices will be shown and analyzed with device simulations. Finally, first
examples of basic logic circuits with enhanced functionality will be
demonstrated.
