Academia can sometimes get out of touch with the real world. Christmas is a
good time to readjust. This talk will look at modern day application
programming and how modern tools and languages provide a comfortable developer
experience from data to user interface. More specifically, this presentation
will demo Xcode and Swift as an example present day developer environment.
Absence of (not entirely serious) rants about alternatives not guaranteed.
