Hauptseminar-Vortrag

"The battery is getting low. Please connect a charger." These are probably the most annoying words which a smart phone user can read on the screen of his brand new phone. But where is the energy spent inside the phone? And why last modern phones only for about one day?
To answer these questions, I will give in my talk an overview about various techniques to measure or determine the energy consumption of modern embedded and mobile devices. I will tell the pros and cons of the different methods - varying from off-line direct measurements to on-line model-based estimations - and explain why none of them will ever be used in your favorite smart phone.
