atmdump problem

Hi 

I am trying to make atmdump work. I have followed the instructions step
by step to create an atm interface, configure the IP addresses and all
that stuff. 

However when I try to run atmdump:

        atmdump -t -1 0c 0.51

it complains:   

        bind:device ofr reource busy.

Any suggestion?

should I create an pvc in advance? I have tried with...

        atmarp -s <ip address> 0.51

...but the error remains.

should I configure the switch internally or it does it automatically?

I am using 0.30 Linux ATM Distribution. Any problem with that?
