You only posted a fraction of the log, so let me do some guess. Graphics
mode was not switched on and con complained that it could not find some
graphics mode and aborted. Consequently all programs using con are
failing because con exited with errors.
A more advanced guess would be that your GRUB does not understand the
last vbeset command that was in my menu.lst entry posted in the last
mail and did not switch to any graphics mode. You can try to add
'-vbemode 0x117' to con. Or take our GRUB and have a working vbeset.
