Now I had a look and it seems there's some issue with 2.6.20 in this
regard. It's not specific to the Ubuntu kernel. 2.6.21 onwards are
working. I haven't debugged this to an end but would suspect that the
segment register change within Linux in .21 plays a role here. Please
update to at least 2.6.21. As I see Ubuntu has 2.6.22-packages now so
this should hopyfully be easy.
