Hi all,
the last exercise on Monday, 14 July, will be about “Trusted Computing”. You can find the assignments here:
https://os.inf.tu-dresden.de/Studium/DOS/SS2025/E05-Trusted-Computing.pdf
Before that, in the lecture slow, we will also have the last lecture on “Side Channels”.
Kind regards,
Carsten
Dear DOS participants,
as announced in today's lecture, I'd like to kindly ask you to fill an
(anonymous) short questionnaire to give us feedback about the
Distributed Operating Systems lecture+exercises during this term. We
need *every* participant(!) because the current attendance is close to
the limit of 10 students, below which we won't receive any evaluation
results at all!
=> https://tud.link/kaj79d
I know it can be exhausting to evaluate many lectures in a small period
of time – but this is important for us. We'll gladly take any
constructive criticism, praise and suggestions for improvement. It
should only take a few minutes.
Thanks!
Regards,
Horst Schirmeier

Dear Sir,
I am writing to kindly request to schedule my examination for DOS. I am enrolled in DSE. Would it be possible to schedule the exam in August?
Thank you very much for your understanding.

Dear DOS students,
the next DOS exercise will take place this coming Monday:
Mon, 2 June 2025, 13:00, in APB E09
This will be a practical exercise on “Container Isolation”.
We provide a VM image that already has all required software installed, as well as the source code that we will work on during the exercise:
https://os.inf.tu-dresden.de/Studium/DOS/SS2025/DOSVM.ova
You should bring a laptop on which you can run a virtual machine (VM). For example, using VirtualBox, which is available
- as a package on most Linux distributions,
- can be downloaded from the vendor’s website: https://www.virtualbox.org/
To prepare for the exercise, please download the VM image and import it into the virtualization software.
We will then implement a simple container runtime for Linux during the exercise.
Kind regards,
Carsten
Hi all,
Next week (May 26), we will conduct a DOS exercise for the topic of real-time systems. Please prepare for the questions that we will discuss during the exercise:
https://os.inf.tu-dresden.de/Studium/DOS/SS2025/E02-Real-Time.pdf
Sorry about the confusion and the ultimate shift of this exercise to May 26. My mistake. Let’s still make the best of it.
Best regards,
Michael Roitzsch
