You need to setup Qemu and then inside it use grub to load the guest. Starting with grub there's not much different compared to native machines. You may find http://os.inf.tu-dresden.de/L4/LinuxOnL4/use-2.6.shtml and http://wiki.tudos.org/HOWTOs useful.
