I think it would be very interesting if the L4 Runtime Environment adopted a bytecode translator like the one implemented in <a href="http://parrot.org/">Parrot VM</a> or <a href="http://nestedvm.ibex.org/">Nested VM</a>.  This feature would mean that L4 could support <a href="http://trac.parrot.org/parrot/wiki/Languages">MANY LANGUAGES</a> natively.  So L4 would not only the ability to boot up a wide selection of operating systems,  but also support for a wide selection of runtime environments.<div>
