grepping the tree I dont see where L4_BID_PKG_CONFIG_CALL or L4_BID_PKG_CONFIG_FAILED are defined/modified. Thanks

My guess would be that in the l4-objdir that isn't a file called l4defs.mk.inc. A 'make' in the l4-objdir root-directory should generate that.
