Adam, Thanks! But maybe I should have been more specific. I meant using x86_64 as the target. But I'm thinking that would still be your answer. So, now I'll ask this:
- After booting my machine with a Fiasco kernel, what exactly will I be able
to do with it?
Nothing. The kernel 'does no real work', really. Everything is done by programs on top.
- How many of the drivers will depend on Linux for their operation (if any)?
Mostly only those that are in Linux but the question is a bit blur. If the driver is independant of Linux it does not need it.
- Can the Linux toolchain of binutils, gcc, glibc be compiled using the DICE
development tools?
No. Dice is for L4 code only.
- Ultimately, how likely is it that I would be able to build a Slackware
distribution on Fiasco?
Unlikely, except you have quite a lot of time to spent.
