I was asked why we hadn't integrated the netboot support in the DROPS version of GRUB into GNU GRUB. That is just because we don't have the time. If the developers can adapt the code to GNU GRUB, I would be glad to merge the change with GNU GRUB. There is no GNU GRUB webpage yet, so I attach the draft below.
What's the difference between GNU GRUB and Erich Boleyn's original GRUB? (Your draft webpage doesn't say this, but it should.)
Does Erich still maintain GRUB?
There is a potential licensing problem because parts of the netboot code we've started from are licensed under a BSD license while GRUB is GPL'd, so it may be illegal to aggregate the two. So far, we've chosen to ignore this problem. What's your stance on this?

Let me tell you the history.
We needed to enhance/fix GRUB, so Gordon Matzigkeit gord@fig.org asked him, "Are you plan to release grub-0.5.1 or something?" He answered that he would do it very soon, but it was not released. Then Gordon asked him, "If you are busy for other tasks, please consider that you would give the maintainership to us." [snip] Thus, He decided that he would give up working on GRUB until he would have time enough to work on it, and Gordon took the maintainership.
After that, Gordon heavily worked on our own GRUB, that is, GNU GRUB, mainly, he implemented the base of /sbin/grub and fixed many bugs. But then Gordon became very busy, so I have become the co-maintainer of GNU GRUB.
Currently I'm working on GNU GRUB towards the next release, grub-0.6. My urgent task is LBA support in stage1, the GNU GRUB manual, enchancement of /sbin/grub, *BSD-related bug fixes and incorporation of many patches for GRUB.

That's difficult to answer. Personally I like BSD license as well as GPL, but the GNU Project might disagree with me. I'll talk with GNU.

Cool. I actually have some stuff that I was looking to do again (for example LBA support... though getting that in the stage1 is an... ah... *interesting* task to say the least).
Could I see what you've been up to?

I must admit, that at least my original goal is just to have something relatively good that most people use.

Please get the lastest version from the CVS, and see the files NEWS and ChangeLog. How to access the CVS is mentioned in the GNU Development Resources http://www.gnu.org/software/devel.html.
