Udo, Thanks.. I tried make clean followed by make... this stopped in the same place NB I'm using the CVS version, downloaded on Saturday or Sunday last, I'm not sure. Bearing in mind my previous problem with tempfile, I am wondering if there is a linux distro issue involved. I'm using SuSE8.0 which has a kernel level of 2.4.18. When looking at UML (IIRC), I remember seeing somewhere that the SuSE kernel is a bit customised. Maybe this is the problem and there are sources missing in my … [View More]

Sawmill defunct?

Hello, I'm interested in Sawmill, but could not find any place to download it and the e-mail address on the web site does not work. Does anyone know if the project still exists and if so, wether there is a Sawmill mailing list and/or download page somewhere. I'm new to L4 and would like to learn more about microkernels by playing around a bit with the various versions. But it looks like that, except for the L4 kernels, there is not much to play with. Semantics of extraordinary scheduling

Hello, I have a question about extraordinary scheduling in L4: The specification is unclear about if/how the thread's scheduling priorities are involved in the game. What is the intended behavior if -say- a high priority thread donates its remaining timeslice to a lower-priority one. Stupid newb can't "make -C l4 config"- THANKS

Well, I woke up with the realisation that maybe there was a src for debianutils at debian.org- and so there was.. have installed tempfile, all OK now but /slightly embarrassed/ Sorry to bother you all; but "Thanks Adam" for the swift response. I now have a proper config and an almost successful make. I will hack the latter somewhat before coming back to the list. Cheers All DD

Hullo L4 Stuck at an early fence:: usually I can overcome these things. make -C l4 config fails with /bin/sh: tempfile: command not found have been looking for it everywhere. seemingly part of Python, I have Python 2.2 and tbh my binutils is a bit lower than specified but I would have thought this insignificant. Google not much help either. Clean install of SuSE linux 8.0, kernel 2.4.18 Would seriously love to get this going as I have a little project that could go rather nicely on … [View More]
