BID-coding an encapsulate

Hi all, I am coding my encapsulation code for my own client-server application package referring to DROPS (BID) tutorial (mine is own implementation). I managed to compile the encapsulate code of mine but encounter an undefined reference function error while compiling the client code which refers the error to the call function [xy_call( ) - generated from the idl (is in my xy-client file)]. I have certain that all of the files related were included and double checked on my call function's parameter. I have also 'make clean' my build dir and recompile. But still I receive the same error. One might think this is stupid question, but believe. It makes me crazy already. Need advice. I would advise you that you use "flips-ore" and "ore" instead of flips-lxdrv with the integrated e1000 driver. "flips-ore" contains no hardware drivers at all, however implements a interface to access the network by using ORe, our network multiplexer. So, it is a kind of generic solution to decouple the IP stack from the network driver. ORe supports various network cards based on drivers from Linux 2.4 and 2.6, so you have here better possibilities to get your NIC running. To configure drivers go to l4/pkg/ore/server and call a make O=.. config. Bye, Alex B.

Hi mates, Any idea how to enter debugger when running fiasco other than put a debug statements in the codes? Problems creating IDL

Hi all, I have been creating a package which implements a server invoked by a client. I understand from the tutorial that I have to create an IDL file listing all my public function there. Problem here is that, I would like to know whether I really need to do the IDL file or can there be other way that I can actually skip the IDL and how do I do that, since my intention here is just to create a simple communication with purpose between my server and client using 1 same language, C. Please advice me in this. Hi, I tried to use fiasco without jdb. It works fine, but, at boot time, sigma0 issues an int 3. After some analysis, int 3 is generated by init_memory in init_mem_v2.cc. It calls fiasco_get_status_phys(). If I comment this, everything is then fine. Why this call is for ? Regards Marc

Try to compile flips but got error..

Hi all! Before this I do ./repomgr co hello , and my fiasco and hello world works fine. Yesterday, I do ./repomgr co remote_repo_l4 with the intention to get the flips package. Today, I tried to compile at /fiasco/l4.. and type make O=/home/fiasco/build at the Terminal .. suddenly I got this error. What does it means? Issues such as co-location of different applications on a single hard- or software platform ("co-habitation"), platform integration of different embedded operating environments as well as safety and protection of embedded software systems require novel approaches to embedded systems development as well as the adaptation of technologies from mainframe and desktop computing, like virtualization and emulation. This, in turn, will change traditional embedded design processes to include hardware and software of growing complexity. This workshops aims to bring together researchers and developers from all areas of embedded systems in order to create a lively discussion of these novel approaches in integration and isolation of embedded systems and the associated challenges and prospects.
